The first solo album by my good friend Warwick Alder has just been released through Rufus Records. Brendance features a quintet: Dave Jackson (alto sax), Jonathan Harkins (piano), Brendan Clarke (acoustic bass) and Andrew Dickeson (drums).
Audio clips of a couple of tracks are available at the Rufus Records site. The ABC Jazz website has several interview clips with Warwick.
I first heard this album around the time it was recorded. It’s a terrific collection of original tunes performed in a classic acoustic jazz idiom.
